Regional and local organizations, north to south
Cordillera Peoples’ Alliance for the Defense of Ancestral Domain and for Self-Determination (CPA) is a federation of indigenous community-based and sectoral organizations in the Northern Luzon Cordillera. It currently has 197 member-organizations in Apayao, Kalinga, Abra, upland Ilocos Sur, the Mountain Province, Ifugao, Benguet and the city of Baguio. In addition, it has a member-organization in Metro-Manila.
Panagkaykaysa dagiti Umili a Nailian a Minorya ti Cagayan Valley (PUNGANAY) is a regional formation of indigenous people’s organizations in the provinces of Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, and Quirino.
Urnos ti Aggay iti Cagayan (UAC) is the provincial organization of the Aggay in the municipalities of Rizal, Lasam, Allacapan, Sanchez Mira, Sto. Niño, Ballesteros and Gattaran in Cagayan province. It was founded in 2007 and is affiliated with Punganay.
Central Luzon Aeta Association (CLAA) is the regional formation of Aeta organizations in the provinces of Tarlac, Pampanga, Bataan and Zambales and the cities of Angeles and Olongapo. It was founded in 1992.
Kabataan para sa Tribung Pilipino (Katribu) is a Metro-Manila organization of students and other youth who are either indigenous people or advocates of indigenous peoples’ rights. It was created in March 1985 by students engaged in the advocacy of indigenous peoples’ righs to ancestral land and self-determination.
Tignayan ti Agtutubo ti Kordilyera para Demokrasya ken Rang-ay (TAKDER) is an organization of Cordillera youth based in Metro-Manila schools and universities. It is a member of the CPA.
Samahan ng mga Katutubo sa Sierra Madre (SKSM) is an organization of Agta, Dumagat, Bugkalot, and Igorot in Aurora Province.
Bigkis at Lakas ng Katutubo sa Timog Katagalugan (BALATIK) is a regional formation of indigenous people’s organizations in the Southern Tagalog provinces of Rizal and Quezon (Dumagat, Remontado, and Agta), Mindoro Occidental and Oriental (Mangyan peoples), and Palawan (Palawanon and Tagbanwa).
HAGIBBAT stands for Hanunuo, Gubatnon, Iraya, Bangon, Buhid, Alangan and Tadyawan, which are the various Mangyan peoples. Out of the 26 Mangyan communities on Mindoro island, 23 are in HAGIBBAT. HAGIBBAT was founded early in 2009 and is affiliated with BALATIK.
Makabayang Samahan ng mga Dumagat (MASKADA) is the organization of Dumagat and Remontados based in Rizal province. It is affiliated with BALATIK.
Tulay Ugnayan ng mga Katutubong Dumagat ng Sierra Madre (TUNOD-KSM) is a federation of Dumagat organizations in Quezon province. It is also affiliated with BALATIK.
Sakadren is the local organization of Dumagat in General Nakar, Quezon. It was formed in 2007 and is affiliated with Tunod-KSM.
Pagsambatan is a federation of the indigenous peoples of Palawan island. It, too, is affiliated with BALATIK.
Tumandok nga Mangunguma nga Nagapangapin sa Duta kag Kabuhi (TUMANDUK) is an inter-provincial formation of Tumanduk peoples in Capiz and Iloilo, Panay island.
Pasaka is the regional federation of Lumad organizations in the Southern Mindanao provinces of Compostela Valley, Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, and Davao Oriental and in the city of Davao. It was formed in 1994 and is composed of 41 local organizations and two provincial organizations (one in the Compostela Valley and the other in North Cotabato).
Kahogpongan sa Lumadnong Organisasyon (KASALO) is a regional federation of Lumad organizations in the CARAGA region, covering the provinces of Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and the city of Butuan. The federation was formed in 1997.
Malahutayong Pakigbisog Alang sa Sumusunod (MAPASU) is a municipal Lumad organization in Surigao del Sur. It is affiliated with KASALO.
Kalumbay is a regional federation of Lumad organizations in Northern Mindanao, covering the provinces of Bukidnon, Misamis Oriental, Misamis Occidental, Lanao del Norte, and the city of Iligan.
Salabukan Nok’ G’taw Subanen (SGS) is a regional federation of Lumad organizations in the Zamboanga Peninsula, covering the provinces of Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, and Zamboanga Sibugay.
Kahopongang Lumad sa Halayong Habagatang Mindanao (KALUHHAMIN) is a regional federation of Lumad organizations in SOCCSKSARGEN, covering South Cotabato, Cotabato City, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, and General Santos. It was formed in March 2000.
Kusog sa Katawhang Lumad sa Mindanao (KALUMARAN) is a Mindanao-wide alliance of Lumad regional formations. It was formed in January 2006 and is based in Davao City.
National organizations
Kalipunan ng Katutubong Mamamayan ng Pilipinas (KAMP), the National Federation of the Indigenous Peoples of the Philippines, is composed of ten regional and five provincial formations plus one national sectoral formation of women. KAMP was created in 1984 as a consultative assembly and was transformed into a federation in 1997.
Bai, the National Federation of Indigenous Women’s Organizations in the Philippines, is the sectoral formation of women affiliated with KAMP. It was created in February 2004 through the assistance of KAMP, Innabuyog (Gabriela in the Cordillera), and Gabriela (national).
Tunay na Alyansa ng Bayan Alay sa Katutubo (TABAK) is an alliance of indigenous peoples’ advocates based in Metro Manila. It was formed in 1985. Its members are professionals, church, workers, academe, businessmen, health workers, artists and young professionals, the majority of whom trace their origins to indigenous communities.
